Altered Composition Book

Just a quick post today. I'm not feeling the greatest. It's gotta be allergies.

My nephews 6th birthday is this week so I asked him what he would like for his birthday. He loves to practice writing. I asked him if he would like a special notebook to practice in. Which much excitement, he answered "yes"! I had a couple composition notebooks I bought at Wal-Mart last year during the back-to-school sale, when they were 50 cents. Can't beat that! I had in my stash this very boy-like themed patterned paper from Reminisce - Genuine Boy collection. I also had a sheet of these matching jumbo stickers. I used one to put "Ryan's Notes" on. The letters are rub-ons from Heidi Swapp. The little star embellishments to the left I've had forever. I don't remember where they are from, but they went well with this paper. I sure hope he likes it! I also got him some cool pencils, swimming trunks, and a race track to go with it. I love to spoil my nephews! They are so cute and sweet!

Later.

Beate's Weekend Sketch WSC #45

It's that time again! Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. For some reason today, I had a really hard time putting something together. My small window of time (my son's nap time) puts the pressure on too.

This morning I played outside with my son for a couple hours. It was beautiful out! Then I mowed the lawn for the first time this year. I love to mow. After sitting in an office all week, it's great to get some fresh air and some alone time. Then I made lunch and my son is soundly sleeping.

I made this card for the challenge. It utilizes two SU! sets - Furnished with Love and Definitely Decorative Daisy. I used my Versamark pad for the background flowers. I had the ribbon in my stash. It's from Michaels.

My sister-in-law came for a short visit yesterday and slept at our house last night. We are the only ones with a guest room in the family. Our guest room is a good size and has it's own bathroom. The fun thing about that room is it's also my craft room! You can't tell from the hallway, which is what I planned. I can leave out all my stuff and nobody can see the mess!

Stay tuned . . . more craft room pictures to come!

Have a great weekend!

Beautiful Monday!

I started out my Monday by hitting AC Moore! They had a 55% off coupon in the newspaper yesterday. You can always find something to get with that kind of coupon. I needed a large acrylic block for a new stamp set I got at Archivers yesterday, so this coupon came in handy!

I had some scraps leftover from the layout I posted the other day. My nephews birthday is a week away and he loves dinosaurs, so I thought he might like this card! The paper is from Reminisce and the stamps from Studio G.

I played a little bit this morning with Fun Flock by Stampendous. Ever hear of it? It is so cool!!!! I bought white because I had bunnies and snowmen in mind for it's use. It's a powder that fluffs up and is fuzzy when you sprinkle it on adhesive - I used glue. I will make something with it soon and try to capture the texture in the photo. If you have dog or cat stamps, this would be great to fill it in with! It comes in all kinds of colors.

Ok
, my day off is almost over and it's beautiful outside. I'm going out! Have a super Monday!

I'm back!

I'm here, I'm here! People have been asking me where I've been. It was a crazy week and I'm sorry it's been a week since I've posted. I was supposed to be out of town this weekend and it didn't happen so I decided to take a day trip today to Archivers in Akron, Ohio. What fun! I will make up for not posting last week, by posting a lot this week, ok? I have so many new goodies to play with and I took the day off tomorrow to make it a long weekend! I can play all day!!!

This layout I created over the past week. I am so slow with scrapbooking. I just never feel like it's good enough. Does anyone else feel this way? Let me know!!!! It's bad. Cards are so much quicker and easier. I don't know which I like better. I think I like creating cards the best and looking over and over again at scrapbook pages. It's hard to remember my little one so small. This layout is from last summer and he looks so short compared to now! Oh my goodness. Anyways, the paper and some of the stickers are from Reminisce - Boys Gone Wild collection. The embellishments are from Me & My Big Ideas, "First Car". I journaled on vellum using my black Slick Writer marker.

I hope you had a great weekend! Unfortunately, I didn't get to Beate's WSC this weekend. It was just too hectic and not enough time. I will next weekend for sure. I hope your weekend was great!

Take care.

Journey

I am finishing up the final pages for my son's first year of life scrapbook. Luckily I have already started his 2nd year, so I'm not too bad off.

This layout was about my son's first stroller ride! I used paper and stickers by Pebbles Inc. It's very fun paper to work with! I cheated on the stitching by using rub-ons from Doodlebug Design. It was much easier and quicker than going to my sewing machine.

I hope your weekend is going well. Unfortunately, it's way too cold to do anything outside today. I'm off to my mother's soon for dinner. I can't wait! Anytime I get a break from cooking - it's always good!

Fun with Changito! - Beate's WSC#43

Hello everyone!

In addition to Riley, I love the new Changito collection from Stampendous! They are so much fun, that I decided to add the word "Fun" from the SU! set Make it Count. The layout design is from Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I always try to get it done Friday night after my son is in bed and it's quiet. Unfortunately, after working all week, I am pretty tired and have troubles creating sometimes. The WSC helps makes it easier and fun! I really hope to win Beate's weekly challenge sometime. I'll be sure to let you know if I ever do!

This was a long week! I wanted to blog earlier, but it just didn't happen. I definitely will this week because next weekend I may be out of town.

Ok, I'm tired and it's getting late. My little one is an early riser, so I better get to bed soon.

Good night!

Flap Card

Last week Splitcoaststampers had a tutorial on making flap cards (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/flap_card/). I had this great paper from Imaginisce. Aren't the colors fun? The stamps on the inside of the card are from Printworks and Ezybells Art Stamps.

I am still working on my son's first year of life scrapbook. It's almost done and I can't wait! There are some pages I want to tear apart and do over, but I know I shouldn't. Our scrapbooking talent grows with time. Besides, if I start doing them over, I'll never get current. If anyone is current with their children's scrapbook, drop me line! I need to know how you do it!

A Beautiful Thing

The weather is beautiful here today! I had Mother's Day on my mind, since it's only 1 month away. My mother is a wonderful person and loves butterflies and flowers. Think she'll like this card? I sure hope so.

The patterned paper is Doodlebug. The stamp is from SU! A Beautiful Thing. The chipboard butterfly is from Making Memories and I added a couple clear Dew Drops in the center for the body. The flowers are Bazzill Wings. I embossed the pink and blue cardstock with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Enjoy your day! I hope the weather is nice where you are!

Friday has arrived! Let the weekend begin!

I'm kicking off the weekend with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge! I love this paper from We R Memory Keepers. It's retro looking and so much fun! Everything coordinates from the paper to the chipboard and the snaps. I used SU! set Cheery Chat for the "Happy Birthday" stamp.

Enjoy your weekend and keep checking back because I will be posting stuff this weekend!

Spring is finally arriving! The temperature is actually hitting 50 degrees around here. It's been sunny too. It just puts me in a better mood!

I made this card using my new set of stamps from SU! called Always and Make It Count. I'm still using up those scraps I talked about a few weeks ago. This paper was left over from a mini album I did on motherhood. The paper is from one of my favorite companies - Daisy D's! Since paper piercing is so popular right now, I gave it a try along the edge of the card and the red layer of patterned paper. I mounted the bird on pop dots to give it dimension.

I received in the mail some goodies this week! My birthday was a couple weeks ago and I always buy myself a present. This year I bought some Dew Drops that I have been seeing on a lot of cards lately AND. . . I bought a few Copic markers!!!!! Lucky me! I played with them a little this evening and they are AWESOME! They are so smooth and just glide on the paper. I LOVE THEM! There are no lines left behind like you get with SU! markers. They are incredible! I want more of them!!! I will try to get a card made using them this weekend to show you, so stay tuned!

Happy TGIF tomorrow. Good night!
